The Supreme Court Bar Association(SCBA) election will be held on 20th November 2025.

 New Delhi - 12 May.

The upcoming elections of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), scheduled for 20th May 2025, are expected to be both spirited and consequential. In a landmark move, the Hon’ble Supreme Court has directed that the post of Secretary be reserved for women candidates—a progressive step that has been widely welcomed across the legal community. This decision reflects a conscious effort to promote gender inclusion and ensure greater representation of women in leadership roles within the Bar. It sets a powerful precedent for other institutions to follow, affirming the judiciary’s commitment to equality and empowerment.

With nominations set to be filed on the 13th and 14th of May, attention is turning to key candidates stepping forward to serve the Bar. Among them is Dr. Sandeep Singh, currently the Joint Secretary of the SCBA, who is contesting for the post of Treasurer. A seasoned advocate with over two decades of experience at the Supreme Court of India, Dr. Singh is widely respected for his integrity, diligence, and unwavering commitment to the legal fraternity.

During his tenure, Dr. Singh has been a proactive and principled voice on issues impacting lawyers. He has consistently spoken out against questionable decisions by the previous Secretary and has worked to address core concerns such as fair chamber allotment, improved medical and insurance facilities, and the long-standing parking challenges at the Supreme Court premises. Additionally, he has advocated for meaningful financial support mechanisms, including stipends for young lawyers and pension schemes for senior members.
